Janne Parviainen

DSC04936 (Medium)

Janne Parviainen hails from Kerava, Finland, and now lives and operates in Helsinki, Finland. In 2005, he received an education in metal art and audiovisual communication at Adulta, Järvenpää. In 2003, he also studied painting and photography at the Hyvinkää Art School. He has taught several art courses at many institutions, including Alfa Art School (teaching drawing, oil color painting, and photography), Järvenpää Adult Education College (teaching oil color painting and photography), Kerava Adult Education College (teaching oil color painting), and Adulta Järvenpää (teaching sculpture). He states, "Within my installations, I merge anamorphic drawings with light painting. I meticulously draw accurate, forced perspective lines onto the walls and floor of my studio to create the optical illusion of depth within the area's physical confines. "I found it quite captivating to experience the illusion of an additional spatial dimension while still being able to see the forms of furniture and the surrounding environment." The piece incorporates light, forced perspective drawings to enhance the figures and objects."

Janne's work transcends the tangible, existing in the intangible realms between the limited and boundless, brightness and obscurity, deception and actuality. He aims to blur the boundaries between these realms, creating a unique artistic experience. His light figures and a hidden sound bring his silent forms to life, evoking a sense of motion. Like delicate butterflies, his paintings constantly transform and surpass themselves, taking flight in the viewer's mind. Janne believes that light painting tools can convey novel messages that embody the most genuine manifestations of human yearning, leaving a profound and emotionally impactful impression on collective awareness.

Janne's "language of light" is highly impactful. He skillfully combines various genres of storytelling, graphic illustrations, typographical styles, historical and mythological references, personal memoirs, and photographs. He intends to emphasize the use of multiple modes of narration.

When not instructing or participating in his artistic projects, he dedicates his time to creating graphic novels or imparting his knowledge of magic lantern techniques to his children. These children embody light and art, as the radiant brilliance almost permeates them.
