Programs for Academic Enrichment grades 9 to 12
Overview
We are seeking academically interested students who are excited about learning. Our programs have a highly selective admission process, reflecting our commitment to academic excellence.
Our individualized curriculum prioritizes the development of skills in addition to the acquisition of information. We designed it to create supportive environments that foster creativity and cooperation, allowing students to learn from their peers and teachers.
Cambridge Creation Lab offers intellectually stimulating academic opportunities and interactive learning communities that encourage analytical thinking, facilitate personal development, and promote continuous learning beyond traditional classroom settings. The online courses will include a comprehensive student-life component to enhance the program's academic curriculum.
Cambridge Creation Lab actively seeks submissions from a wide range of people who will enhance our academic community. Applications undergo a comprehensive and personalized evaluation, including the educational history, letters of reference, admissions essays, and other submissions of each candidate to ascertain the influence of their life experiences on their development and possible contributions. This emphasis on diversity ensures that every student feels included and part of a larger network.
Families often favor CCL due to its rigorous academic standards, the availability of courses not offered in their local area, a curriculum modeled after those in the United States, a student community focused on academics, the health and safety advantages of an online school, a course schedule tailored for self-directed learners, a schedule more compatible with relocation or frequent travel, and a schedule that effectively balances extracurricular activities.

The Cambridge Creation Lab curriculum integrates interdisciplinary teaching and learning, enabling students to acquire the skills to address cross-disciplinary challenges, operate at the convergence of disciplines, and pursue research paths that challenge the limitations of specific fields.
The fundamental aspect of the creative process is not just the final creative outcome but also a cohesive cognitive process that encompasses the formulation, exploration, and conceptualization of the creative inquiry. Through extensive project-based research at Cambridge Creation Lab, we have learned that in interdisciplinarity, similar to design, it is essential to adopt the concept of generating even superior solutions to the obstacles encountered in our fields of study or expertise.
We create pathways for students to restructure existing patterns at the core of each discipline and discover new ones as they grasp multiple disciplinary perspectives and generate distinctive, transformative ideas. Students acquire exceptional organizational skills and research abilities that equip them to become analytical, inventive thinkers and influential decision-makers.
Why do we need interdisciplinarity for young students?
The concept of interdisciplinary teaching and learning is based on the notion that, although course offerings and content may differ, all courses include inherent connections that should be recognized and used to enhance student learning. The multidisciplinary approach prioritizes shared learning objectives that develop abilities applicable to different situations, even if students often change courses. This aligns with the "skill-based" teaching approach, whereby courses prioritize the development of skills rather than the course material. Although knowledge is crucial, skills serve as the basis of the class experience and enable the transfer of this knowledge across future sessions.
How does Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning work?
Critical reflection and a deep understanding of convergence and divergence between discipline ideas are essential components of the integrative thought process in interdisciplinary study and research. An analysis of several programs with expertise in interdisciplinary education demonstrates no singular conceptual framework for learning theories.
Cambridge Creation Lab has formulated its paradigm of interdisciplinary research and thinking, drawing on extensive research experience founded on distinctive boundary-crossing learning processes exclusive to the laboratory. Our objective is to establish or improve environments, methods, and collaborations that encourage the development of interdisciplinary research ideas and intellectual student communities.
What does it mean to think critically about different disciplinary perspectives?
Each field of study has a distinct viewpoint that influences our approach to any intricate problem. Throughout all of our courses, we assist students in assessing, through research-based learning, the extent to which several disciplines can integrate harmoniously, thereby gaining a comprehensive understanding of the whole problem and generating innovative ideas and solutions.
Students develop cooperation, communication, leadership, and problem-solving competencies by establishing significant cross-curricular links and collaborating with their classmates on interdisciplinary projects.
Can an arts or humanities student grasp other scientific fields, such as physics or biology, when employed in interdisciplinary projects, or vice versa?
Utilizing creative movement across the curriculum is a stimulating method of learning. This enables students to independently investigate, encounter, and interpret scientific concepts via active physical interaction. Our courses are intentionally structured to cater to various students' cognitive abilities and attention spans. We strive to create inclusive classrooms that can effectively address the demands of different learning styles.
By dissecting and reconstructing concepts from the arts and sciences, which are once again crafted in a visually captivating way, students assume responsibility for the ideas and integrate them with a problem-solving process.
Our methods aid students' comprehension of scientific concepts and terminology by engaging them in spontaneous creative processes. This allows them to establish connections between ideas and understand the interrelationships between academic forms and concepts.
